CAMP WILLIAMS RULES
No one is required to join the Utah National Guard! However, feel free if you wish to.
Drivers must have ID to enter the base. Tell the guard at the gate you are here with “Black Thorn Airsoft” for the airsoft games. You will be directed to the staging area.
You must obey all posted speed limits and be aware of changes to speed or road conditions. Use of wireless phones & mobile devices while driving is prohibited on the base. Yield to pedestrians and horses.
Players must be 18 or over with a signed waiver to participate.
Players under 18 must have a BTA waiver signed by a parent or guardian (18 or over) to participate.
Players under 16 must be accompanied by a participating parent or guardian (18 or over) both with signed waivers.
Camp Williams/Utah Army National Guard waivers must be signed before leaving the staging area. These are not BTA waivers. When you get to the staging area, ask for a waiver, get it signed and turned into the BTA Command/Staff as soon as possible.
While on the base and field, you will be interacting with our National Guard hosts. Feel free to talk to them! Many of them have extensive experience and can answer questions you have about the Utah Army National Guard. Please refer to them as sir, ma'am, or by their military rank. If you do not recognize the military rank structure sir or ma'am will do, until they tell you otherwise. Please thank them for this opportunity and be respectful.
Out of respect for the soldiers of Camp Williams, please remove all real U.S. or Foreign military rank, qualification badges, or other types of awards on your airsoft uniform. You will be around real soldiers that have worked very hard to earn the right to wear these. In addition, there are military rules that cover the proper wearing and display of uniforms. Acceptable patches; American Flags (worn properly), Airsoft Team Patches, “Call-Sign” Nametapes, Blood-Type, & Some Morale Patches (No disrespectful, rude, lewd, discriminatory, or objectionable morale patches). We do not want to offend our hosts.
There will be down time at the staging area before we leave the field. Be mindful, it is a privilege to play at this facility and it takes time to coordinate this huge effort. Be patient!
At the staging area before we leave the field, keep all airsoft weapons in cars and out of sight. You will be told when it is time to load up the buses to convoy to the game site. Gun cases are mandatory, if you do not have gun cases transport your weapons in a box, duffle bag, etc…
The Utah Army National Guard uses buses to move players from the staging area to the field. You will need to pack all your gear to be transferred from your vehicle to bus for transportation to the game site. Be prepared and plan for this, pack light and portable. If the buses are not available we will drive to the game site, you will need to ‘carpool’ in order to have as few vehicles as possible at the field. There is lots of room to play but limited parking at the field. No vehicles with one person will be allowed.
Everyone must be escorted from the base to the field and back to the base. Once you are at the field, you do not leave without an escort, period! If you try to leave without an escort, you are putting yourself at risk. Be prepared for an all day airsoft event. If you cannot stay for the duration of the event, please do not plan on attending.
Although the Utah Army National Guard has fed and supplied water to us in the past, everyone attending must bring enough water and food to sustain yourself for a day of hard airsofting. If you do not bring water and food you will not be allowed to participate.
Everyone attending a BTA airsoft event at Camp Williams must wear ANSI Z87.1 standard eye protection AT ALL TIMES. If you only have dark lenses, goggles, or a mesh/lensed mask, etc… you must have a pair of clear safety glasses as well for between games and dark areas. If your eye protection or its packaging was not labeled “ANSI Z87.1 standard” then it is not acceptable.
The Utah National Guard advises being mindful of;
Wildlife. Tarantulas, Scorpions, Bobcats, Mountain Lions, etc.. No shooting at wildlife!
“Shiny Things”. It is possible to encounter Unexploded Ordinance (UXO). DO NOT TOUCH! Call a “cease fire” and get a Guard Member to deal with it.
Absolutely no weapons of any kind! (“Real Steel” Firearms, Knives, Swords, Bows, Paintball Markers, etc…)
Absolutely no noxious gas or sprays of any kind!
Absolutely no pyrotechnics allowed. Do not bring any type of item you would have to light or strike or would/could create a spark.
Absolutely no alcohol, drugs, or controlled substances of any kind!
Absolutely no fighting physical or verbal!
Cigarette Smokers, there will be one designated smoking area. Do not smoke anywhere else on the field. DO NOT THROW YOUR BUTTS ON THE GROUND! YOU WILL DISPOSE OF YOUR OWN CIGARETTE BUTTS!
Do not throw any trash on the ground. During and after the games, we are all responsible for cleaning up the game site. Please bring brooms and dust pans to help sweep BBs out the buildings and structures at the game site. After the games are over everyone must participate in the clean up! No exceptions!
Biodegradable BBs only at the FOB! Check the BTA “game” description if the AO (Area Of Operation) is at the FOB, be prepared and have biodegradable BB’s.
Biodegradable BBs are not required at the MAC/MOUT.
You must have a CQB weapon to enter the buildings, you are not be allowed to play inside the buildings without one. Weapons 300fps (310fps max) or lower including Spring, Gas, & GBB Pistols, Spring Shotguns, AEP's, Gas/BB shower grenades and Co2 Grenades are approved. All AEG CQB weapons must be chronoed and tagged to ensure 300fps or lower (310fps max) and must remain tagged for use inside of the building. Firing ‘full-auto’ within the “Urban Assault Building” is acceptable using short controlled bursts. Higher FPS weapons may fire out windows but not in. Absolutely no blocking, locking, or lashing of the doors, windows, gates, hatches or stairs! Do not remove stairs or ladders between levels. Tables, chairs, boxes, etc… can be used for cover but not to block hallways or stairs.
Gas/BB shower grenades are acceptable. Co2 Grenades are also acceptable. DO NOT put BBs in the Co2 grenades! See the BTA ROE (Rules of Engagement) regarding grenades.
Non-BTA guests are now required to sign the BTA-Waiver, all of our guest teams and players are required to know and abide by our Field and Safety Rules, ROE (Rules of Engagement), and COC (Code of Conduct). Please go to our Waiver/Rules page and read these forms before attending.
At Camp Williams BTA always plays warm-up ‘death matches’ and tries to plan on shorter battles in order to keep the pace up and have more experiences. If you or your team do not want to participate in these kinds of smaller scale skirmishes or plan to sit them out, please do not plan on attending. Your invitation could have gone to someone else. BTA is planning larger scale longer engagement scenarios for our future dates at Camp Williams.
Sitting out games to take photographs or video is acceptable. Anyone taking photographs or video must wear at least a “blaze orange” hunting vest. “Blaze orange” hat, gloves and a bandana to wave out windows are strongly recommended.
Bear in mind that you will be playing on a United States military installation; If you choose to break the law in any way (eg. theft, vandalism, violence, drugs, driving violations, etc…) you will be subject to the full extent of the law.
Black Thorn Airsoft is honored to be officially sponsored by the Utah Army National Guard! We are very privileged to have this opportunity! We enjoy sharing this opportunity with other airsoft players and teams. Any BTA-Member, Guest, Guest Team Member, or Guest Team who violates any of the BTA/Camp Williams/Utah Army National Guard Rules can be removed from the base and banned from future events.
